This just in…

Nationwide, only 10% of people in my age group (18-24) bothered to vote today.  10%.  It is speculated that younger people don’t vote because they feel politicians don’t pay any attention to us.

Here is an obvious solution: make your presence known by voting and politicians will pay attention.  It’s hard to pay attention to voices that die out before they even make a sound.  Vote.  You will be heard.  And maybe, just maybe, tuition will stop increasing.  Yes, during my research for candidates the question of increasing tuition amounts was raised.

  1. I think another reason that your age group doesn’t vote is because of the transient nature of the 18-24 year-olds. They are away at school and working a lot and some of them aren’t yet registered. Those that are living away from home don’t remember to re-register their new location so they can vote locally. Or they don’t know enough about the temporary area they are living in to know who should be the gov there or the local leaders. But you are right, voting is the best way to say your thoughts matter.
